    Gabi Gillessen has been practicing yoga for over 20 years and has been involved with teacher training on the Irish Yoga Association (IYA) for many years.

    Gabi has experienced many styles of yoga, and her training in Iyengar yoga influences how she teaches, in that she brings a lot of focus to explaining and demonstrating correct alignment so that you will fully understand each of the postures.

    Gabi is very clear in her description of postures, and also the benefits and precautions required.

    She is also a great yoga teacher for complete beginners, as she will give variations that are easier to practice until you are ready for the full postures.

Although I have been doing yoga at home, it has been a very different experience here & you’ve managed to coax my body to bend & stretch beyond my expectations!     Gabi gives very clear instructions and is very attentive to make sure everybody gets a good understanding of the postures.

    Some of the postures are quite gentle, while others are more challenging.

    We only have a maximum of 15 people on each retreat, so even if you are a teacher or a very experienced practitioner, you will be given adjustments and information suitable for you own level.

    Gabi’s approach gives you a very deep understanding of the postures as she will give also give you a lot of information about the postures as well as teach you how to come into the posture.

    On Saturday, Dave takes the group on guided outings into the Burren hills and by the sea, and this is a great opportunity to see many special places one would normally come across in the Burren.

    Most people come on their own and many make new friends they stay in contact with after they return home.

    The Burren is a very magical place on the west coast of Ireland, and this time spent in Nature is a very important aspect of letting go any cares or worries and these walks are like food for the soul.

    Dave also uses his local knowledge to bring the group to one of the best local restaurants or cafes to have lunch while we are on our outing, which is a great way to sample the best of the locale cuisine in the Burren.

    Some yoga classes will be challenging and others will be restorative yoga  where one can sink to very deep states of letting go, while the body opens up in one of the restorative postures.

    This will include instructions on how to use the props to find a comfortable sitting position, and also will include an introduction to meditation for complete beginners.
