This Yoga teacher training is unlike many other teacher training courses.
The main quality aspects of this teacher training are

A great opportunity to take your yoga teacher training with world famous David Muehsam who practices and teaches yoga within a truly
yogic spirit, where one delves inwards during the training to learn how to sequence postures, building one's own sequences, modifying postures and flow taking account of the abilities and place where your students are at the present moment.
David teaches extensively worldwide, in workshops and yoga teacher trainings.
Spend 4 weeks and 4 days living within a truly yogic environment, away from one's normal surroundings of cities, noise, traffic or external commitments or pressures, with one of the world's best committed and experienced yoga teacher trainers.
And on a daily basis, undergo the training under David's guidance within a small group of 15 students.
Be nourished by the famous vegetarian food of the Burren Yoga and Meditation Centre and take free time to unwind and provide food for one's soul in the unspoilt natural environment of the Burren which lies beside the Atlantic ocean.
This teacher training is only for sincere students of yoga who have already been practicing for at least 4 years, and who are prepared to undertake the training in a truly mindful and all embracing committed way.
David Muehsam

David Muehsam first practiced yoga in 1982, and was introduced to the method of
Iyengar Yoga in 1987. In 1993 he began the practice
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, and has been influenced by the meditative and breathing methods of the tradition of
Satyananda Saraswati.

David holds Certificate IV in Teacher Training and Assessment from the Australian Government, Yoga Alliance 500 Hour certification, and has received written authorization from K. Pattabhi Jois to teach Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.

He has also completed teacher training with Richard Freeman. David has tremendous experience and is widely regarded as one of the best ‘teacher of teachers’ anywhere in the world. David teaches extensively worldwide, in workshops and yoga teacher trainings

David is a research associate at the Bioelectrochemistry Laboratory Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, and a consultant for Ivivi Technologies, USA, designing and modeling electromagnetic field signals for bone and soft tissue healing. He has published numerous articles in the fields of bioelectromagnetics and alternative medicine, holds patents for therapeutic healing signals, and has conducted research on Pranayama and Chinese Qigong practices. He has been a professional musician since childhood, performing on saxophone and flute.

Cost of the course
The cost of the course is €3,800 and includes accommodation and vegetarian meals, full training on the teacher training course.
It does not include lunch which we usually eat out in local cafes.
The training takes place over two 16-day residential modules. The first is in October 2010 and the second is in January 2011.
The food is cooked by Paddi the gourmet vegetarian chef who ran Seventh Heaven the well known restaurant in Galway city.
A single room costs €450 extra. This is for the 32 day duration of the course.
The full course fee is paid in stages.
The full course fee may be paid in non-refundable instalments on the following dates;
- on submission of application form........€200
- on acceptance of you for the course......€800
- September 8th...................................€500
- October 29th....................................€1,300
- November 10th....................................€500
- January 14th.....................................€500
Applications submitted before January 2010 can pay the aceptance fee by 20th January 2010
Any applicant who is deemed not suitable for the course will be exempt for any cancellation fee and refunded their application fee.
The above are the only payments made and the normal cancellation fee on other courses do not apply.
All the above payments are non-refundable except the case when an applicant is not accepted onto the course.
Qualifications received
The course participants will be carefully chosen and all applications will be carefully considered.
The qualification is fully recognized by Yoga Alliance and the course
includes a minimum of 200 direct contact hours with the teacher within
formal learning classes.
In order to qualify for the Yoga Alliance certificate, all graduates will be required to demonstrate adequate knowledge of all the topics presented in the course.
Students will have the opportunity throughout the course to
ensure that they understand the material, through exploration in their own practice, practice teaching, and demonstration of techniques to other students.
In order to complete the required number of training hours,
attendance at all classes and modules is mandatory. If a student misses one of the classes, then, time permitting, it may be possible to sign up for further one-to-one training with David (on a paid basis) to cover the topics of that missed class.
Additional nights stay at the centre
To avail of a cheaper flight at the start or end of ones residential modules, you may like to stay an extra night or two. Cost is €35 per night. No meals included.
Who is the course suitable for
The pre-requisites for the course is that one should be practicing yoga for at least 4 years.
A certain level of physical proficiency is expected of those applying for the course.
And a certain level of maturity and commitment required for teaching yoga is also expected.
All applicants will be expected to fill in a written form when applying for the course, and may also be called for interview either by email, phone, in person or all three.
All applications (even those not satisfying the above requirements) will be carefully reviewed and considered.
Don't worry.... the reason why we are being so careful in choosing the right people for the course is to ensure a high standard of both practice on the course, a high level of commitment, and a very high standard of teachers graduating from the course.

This teacher training takes place over 2 separate 16 day residential modules.
Between the two modules, participants are expected to practice on a daily basis and to study the course materials and texts as outlined on the course syllabus.
David Muehsam believes in bringing inner intention, fun and joy to one's practice. His style is one of strong physical practice, with a gentle approach, using organic intuitive flowing sequences allowing variations for various body types. Practices of pranayama and meditation are abundant in his teaching.
David teaches with an emphasis on helping students to find a personal relationship with their yoga practice, to deepen the meditative feeling of yoga, and to use yoga to enhance one’s physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. With an emphasis on pranayama, the meditative quality of the breath, and having fun, David creates a joyous and freely-flowing practice accessible to all ages and body types.

students create a traditional yoga practice appropriate to their own needs.

The course will consist of two modules, with a break in between during which
students will have time to explore further and deepen their practices. ..
and to maintain a daily practice between the two modules. Written
assignments will also be completed in this period.
In a traditional practice of the 8 limbs of yoga that includes the
philosophy of yoga, asana, strong physical practice, regular pranayama and sitting meditation practice.

There is a €200 non-refundable deposit to submit the application. If for whatever reason, you are deemed not to be suitable for the training, you will be refunded your deposit. Otherwise in all other cases it will be non-refundable and will be part payment for the course fee of €3,800.
You must also fill in a booking form on the website to accompany your application form. It is sufficient to provide visa or master card details on this booking form to cover your deposit and payment for the course in instalments.
