This course was planned for 2002. We may plan it again for 2004, but no dates confirmed yet. Course Description
Sean Johnson leads chanting, yoga, and meditation classes at The New
Orleans Yoga Center and facilitates workshops, retreats, and concerts at
centers in the U.S. and Ireland. He is a strong believer in the power of
integrating spirituality and music. He founded the world music ensemble The Rishis and has studied Indian music and chant with sound healer Russill Paul and
other Indian teachers. He has a creative, compassionate, and inclusive
teaching style, encouraging participants in his classes to honor the wisdom of
their inner teacher. He has made regular trips to Ireland to guide chanting
workshops for the last three years.
This weekend is ideal for those who would like a break from their normal life and immerse themselves in tranquility and healing, and giving themselves the space and quiet to work on their inner self.
The power of chanting releases inner blocks and produces a sense of joy within one’s inner being. An ideal way to take time out, relax, tune inwards and express the inner joy of communion with the whole universe.
Who it is suitable for
Experience the power of chanting simple sacred mantras from the world
spiritual traditions to awaken your spirit. Chanting can create deep
peace, vitality, freedom, and spiritual awareness. This practice is also an
extremely effective way to enter into a state of sweet, sacred silence.
An atmosphere of comfort and ease with using the voice is created
especially for those of us who are shy about using our voices.
No chanting or musical experience necessary. Accompanied by sacred
musical instruments to enhance meditation.
This workshop is aimed at beginners but is also suitable for people who have previous experience of chanting. No previous experience of either Yoga or Chanting is required.
The Yoga will be very gentle and is suitable for all.
