Title
Kundalini Yoga: A Chakra a Day Keeps The Doctor Away

Background
Chakras are energy centres; the 7 main chakras are located along the spine. They interact together as a whole, influencing and vitalizing every aspect of our being, -physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. Kundalini is our life force, the connecting power, based in the two lower chakras. The better our chakras work the healthier, happier and more connected we are to ourselves and the world.

What is Kundalini Yoga
Kundalini describes the lifeforce within everyone of us; it is the highest form of energy.

Kundalini yoga invites the Kundalini power to rise in a slow and safe manner that gives you a feeling of wellness and contentment. It is also called the yoga of awareness.

Yogi Bhajan says: " Kundalini is the energy connecting and sensitizing the nervous and glandular system, so the whole brain can get and interpret signals and the connection between reason and effect has become aware. It is called Kundalini when someone can spread his energy in action.

In Kundalini Yoga we unroll our sleeping energy to live a fullfilled, intuitive and superb life in a normal life situation as part of the world. "

Main Techniques of Kundalini Yoga
Every yogaclass follows the same sequence of events:

  • All sets last between 15 and 45 minutes including a meditation.
  • They always contain the following six parts
  • Different postures (Asanas)
  • combined with a specific moving patterns
  • guided breath
  • supported by 2 techniques of concentration (Mudra and Mantra)
  • deep relaxation
  • and meditation

There will be time to exchange experiences and for more information about Kundalini Yoga.

Most people come on the own from all different parts of the country and also some from abroad who fly into Shannon.

The atmosphere is quite easy going and friendly and warm, so its the type of centre where you arrive and before you know you feel at home.

Sometimes people do come in pairs if they also happen to have a friend who enjoys yoga weekends too.

Is it cold in Winter ?
The centre has underfloor heating throughout the building. So even if the weather gets cold outside, it is nice and cosy inside. This includes the Yoga room and the dorms at night.

Staying an additional night This may enable you to get a cheaper flight. You need to check this with the centre and it depends on availability.
