The times below are given by the AA, but are not realistic for a Friday afternoon. Dublin to the centre can take between 2.5 hours in the nightime, to 5 hours late Friday afternoon.

There are very few houses in the surrounding area and also very few road signs.
Please
use your milometer in your car to measure distances.
These distances are quite exact.
Anyone who has got lost, usually has not followed the directions regarding distances.
Do not use this map to try to find your way to the centre.

Galway to Kinvara
- Take Limerick road (same as Dublin road initially) out of Galway,
and stay on Limerick road.
- Pass through Clarinbridge village, and then come into Kilcolgan village.
- In Kilcolgan, pass petrol station on RHS, and take next right turn signposted Kinvara.
- Follow road for approx 6 miles [9 km] into Kinvara.
Kinvara to Burren Yoga
- From Galway direction go into Kinvara village.
- Take first left (At Sextons pub, also called Downtown pub)
- After 30 metres take right fork. Sign for Burren Yoga 8km.
- Continue straight for 2 miles [3.2 Km]. Go straight through crooked cross roads.
- 50 metres after cross roads take next right.
Sign for Burren Yoga 4 Km.
- Follow narrow twisty winding road for 2 miles [3.2 Km]. At crossroads take right.
Sign for Burren Yoga 1 km.
- Continue on a half mile [1 Km]. Centre is on left about 300 metres before T junction.
- Its the second house on the left after crossroads.
If you go too far you will reach a T junction.
Ballyvaughan to Burren Yoga
- From Ballyvaughan take Galway road.
- After approx 8 miles you see an inlet of the sea on your left signed Bell Harbour. Take right turn at Bell Harbour (short cut over hills)
- Take left at T junction.
- Continue on road for approx 3 miles.
- Come down steep hill (Abbey hill) and take sharp right just before the T juction at the bottom of the hill.
- This sharp right turn takes you onto the New Line.
- Continue for approx 3 miles.
(Straight through cross roads which has left turn to Kinvara).
- Approx 1 mile after this cross roads,
- Take left turn to Gort. Sign for Burren Yoga
- House is 3rd house on right.
Dublin to Gort
N4 - M4 - exit at junction 11 signed Galway - N6 - Loughrea -Gort
- Take N4 road signed "The West"
- Continue onto Motorway M4 signed "Sligo" or "Galway"
- Leave M4 at Junction 11 signed "Galway"
- Continue onto N6 signed "Galway". Stay on this motorway for approx 80 km
- The motorway continues onto the older road and through Ballinasloe town
- Stay on the N6 following signs for Galway until you read a roundabout signed Loughrae to the first exit left [do NOT take exit signed Galway and Gort on second exit]
- Exit dual carrageway and enter into Loughrae town
- At end of Town take left signed "Gort".
- After 20 metres take right signed "Gort"
- Continue 15 miles into Gort.
- Take right at T junction signed "Galway".
Gort to Burren Yoga
- From Dublin (or Limerick) direction, continue down the main street approx 400 metres to main square and take left signed Corrofin
- Approx half mile [1 km] take right signed Kinvara (opposite SuperValue Supermarket).
- After 1 mile [1.5 Km], take right Brown sign "Natural Stone Products". Be careful. Some people miss this turn. Measure 1 mile from SuperValue Supermarket, after bad bend to left, this turn is next on right after the bend, and road dips down
- After 1.5 miles [2.5 Km] take right at Tirnevin church signed Kinvara. Its the road right alongside the side of the church.
- After about half mile, ignore two turns to the left.
- After 1.5 miles [2.5 Km] reach a fork. The right fork is signed Kinvara
and the left fork has a sign Burren Yoga 3 km
- Take the left fork.
- Follow straight road for approx 1.2 miles [2 Km], straight through cross roads.
- The house is .5 mile [1 Km] after cross roads on LHS.
(Its the second house on LHS after the crossroads).
If you go too far you will reach a T junction 50 metres beyond the centre.
Entrance to Burren Yoga and Meditation Centre

Beside the tree outside the entrance is the round sign with the Burren Yoga Logo in the shape of a Sun and a moon.
Low stone wall (3 foot high and approx 100 foot long)
with two natural Burren rock piers either side of a cattle grid.
Stone wall is back from the road about 15 foot,
leaving room for cars to park outside if car park is full.
There is a 7 foot high standing stone just inside the gate posts on the RHS,
with "Lig do Scith" on it.
You can hardly see the house behind the trees from the entrance.
Parking
Please drive in over cattle grid, and take the immediate left marked "Car Park"
and park car neatly to allow others room to turn easily.
Checklist to bring with you
- Walking boots (or very good strong shoes) Not BMT's, they are dangerous when walking on uneven rocks
- Rain gear, including rain pants if you have them
- Change of clothes
- Alarm clock
- A printed copy of this page
- Cash to pay for the course (not credit card or cheque)
- Small plastic bottle for water (fresh spring water from taps at centre)
Useful additional items to consider
- Camera & spare films, batteries
- Walking shorts, pants
- Swimming suit and towel for beach
- Sun block
- Wetsuit, snorkel, mask & fins
- We do not wear shoes inside the centre, so thick socks or Soft wollen slippers (not sandals, or flip flops) for the centre
- Hat, scarf, gloves for sailing or staying snug
- Torch
- Your own yoga mat and props (yoga mats are supplied if you don't have your own.
- ATM card for bank
Please do NOT bring
- Newspapers
- Radio
- Magazines
- Mobile phones should be switched off at all times, so please make arrangements that you don't need to be contacted
These courses are a chance for you to take time to yourself and to get away from the outside world. It is an opportunity for you to learn quality yoga and meditation, and to take time to tune inwards.
We ask you to leave the usual outside world behind while you are at the centre.
