Anusara Inspired Hatha yoga retreat on west coast of Ireland
Anusara Yoga is a new paradigm of hatha yoga in which the art of the human spirit powerfully blends with the science of biomechanics. It is a spiritually uplifting and therapeutic system of yoga that integrates Universal Principles of Alignment and inner body awareness with a celebration of the heart.

During this 6 day residential retreat, you will learn the elegant Universal Principles of Alignment that provide safe, precise and effective instructions allowing each pose to blossom fully.

Through Kanta's soft heart, warm smile and inspiring energy, you will be guided through a wide range of transformational postures that will increase your strength, vitality, flexibility and joy.

As the week progresses you will find yourself going deeper inside, and getting in touch with inner joy through the practices.

Reconnect to your innate diversity and inner radiance in this fun-filled and energizing workshop.

These classes are suitable for all levels, from beginners to advanced.

And you will be taken to different locations in the Burren and by the sea each day to explore the unspoiled Nature in this beautiful part of Ireland.
Instructor
Kanta Barrios is from Mexico city originally, and she was born into a family where yoga was practiced and she was introduced to yoga at an early age.

Over the years Kanta has completed a number of Yoga Teacher Training courses and is currently undertaking further on-going training as an Anusara yoga teacher.

Kanta has practiced many different forms of yoga over the years including ashtanga yoga with Paddabhi Jois. She undertook teacher training practice with Paddabhi Jois and completed over 100 hours with him.

She brings her experience of different forms of yoga to the classes and gives clear guidance on the correct alignment and opening to the joy inside your heart within the postures.

She has also practiced Siddha yoga and meditation. She has undertaken 12 years as a long term student at Shree Muktananda Ashram in the USA, and also at Gurudev Siddha Peeth, in India.

Kanta now teaches as an ‘Anusara Inspired’ Yoga teacher and uses her wide experience of other forms of Yoga, Therapeutics, and Meditation practices.

Some of the classes include restorative postures and these compliment the opening and uplifting more dynamic postures.

She is committed to bringing a down-to-earth and light approach- to make the exploration and practice of Yoga fun and relevant in today’s lifestyle. With the intention optimizing students health and general wellbeing.

Kanta’s other experience of yoga are too numerous to mention, but has also included Iyengar yoga at the Itengar Yoga Insitiute in New York, Theraputic Yoga with John Friend and Desiree Rumbaugh, Yoga Anatomy with Martin Kirk, Yoga Therapy for women with Pat Clanmel.

Nowadays her yoga teaching includes personal assessment and tailored yoga programs for individuals, Restorative and Theraputic Yoga, Stress Management and Brewathing techniques, Meditation and deep relaxation in combination with Asana and Pranyama.
"I love what I do and I am deeply greatful to my teachers for their constant guidance, love and inspiration. The practice of Yoga and meditation remind me every day of the blessings in my life.

I am constantly challenged to find more freedom and peace of mind within myself balancing body, mind and heart in what I see as a delightful play of self discovery.

Love to share and teach. We can do something to make our world a paradise."
