Modified Ashtanga with Veronica Larsson Jul11

Modified Ashtanga & Meditation 7-day retreat

July 11th - 18th 2008

Awaken to the Joy in your heart with Yoga!

This retreat is aimed at people who wish to work with a modified Ashtanga practice on a daily basis with a very experienced teacher; Veronica Larsson.

Possible to book weekend only.
Prices to attend part of a week long course

The use of the term astanga yoga here, refers to the older traditional use of the term meaning 8 limbs of Yoga. Including Asana, Pranayama (breathing), Meditation.

The Asana or physical practice will be a modified Ashtanga Vinyasa flow, where the postures are modified to the ability of the practitioner. In general, the postures are made easier, and are less stressful to one's body. This can make the modified Ashtanga sequence accessible to all.

Ashtanga and Beyond

What is it all about?

This week we explore the foundations of astanga yoga, as well as look at how the individual can use these and other means to energetically create a practice that nourishes and centres you in response to the truth in your own heart.

Veronica draws on her extensive experience of having completed the primary and intermediate series of astanga yoga in depth with her senior teacher, her working therapeutically and energetically with yoga in one-to-one sessions for many years, as well as working and training in the mind-body-spirit/consciousness healing modality of 'the journey', and channeling.

Veronica uses this experience to create a workshop that allows you to open up and tune into your hidden strengths and weaknesses, and to experience the magic and joy that is the result the practices of these ancient astanga/ 'eight limbs' of yoga.

Powerful, liberating and fullfilling!

This week will be beneficial and relevant to students of yoga of all levels, as well as students of other disciplines.

Practice will include pranayama, sitting meditation, recuperation, technique classes, and Yoga Nidra.

A great opportunity to deepen your understanding of Astanga Yoga, see your practice in a new, Divine, light!

The last morning.... the friday morning, Veronica will not be here, and you will practice on your own in the yoga room. This will be your final step towards continuing the practice at home when you leave the centre.

There will be plenty of outdoor activites in the Burren and surrounding areas.

And the usual amazing vegetarian meals with Paddi the chef.

Cost of the course

The cost of the course is €730 and includes accommodation and vegetarian meals.

The food is cooked by Paddi the gourmet vegetarian chef who ran Seventh Heaven the well known restuarant in Galway city.

A single room costs €120 extra.

We eat lunch out locally and you will need to pay for this yourself.

Prices to attend part of a course

Additional nights stay at the centre

To avail of a cheaper flight you may like to stay an extra night or two. Cost is €35 per night. No meals included.

Availability of staying an extra night will only be known 1 week before the course start date, and will depend on the numbers attending the previous weeks course.

If the centre is full, you could always stay that night in Kinvara village with one of the many b&b’s.

Who is the course suitable for

This week will be beneficial and relevant to students of yoga of all levels, as well as students of other disciplines.

It is suitable for beginners to yoga, but you will need to be either reasonably fit or reasonably young, as some of the practice is quite strong.

Our practice is a process, that can help to bring about awarenss and healing on many levels.

An honest yoga practice may help us hear the voice of our own heart. 'We practice so that we can tune in, remember, and be aware of who and what we truly are'.

Nice email sent by Janette from Veronica's Ashtanga's course July 2006

Hi Dave,
Just wanted to let you know that i arrived home safely.
It was the most wonderful feeling to see my husband and children again. Raphael said that my eyes were shining and Charlie my 16 year old told me that i had a wonderful glow!
I have been fixing things in the garden and a couple of hours ago we decided to have a yoga session so Raphael, myself, Tiger and Aden were all in the garden doing yoga, chanting and omming and it was hysterical and wonderful at the same time.
It brought tears to my eyes remembering how much Veronica taught me. Thank you thank you thank you for a wonderful week and i will e-mail you soon with my thoughts on my past week as promised.
Take care my friend and be well.
The karma CD is amazing! But i still want that Indian music cause it's in my head and it reminds me of my wonderful friends!
Send my love to Veronica.
XXXXXXXXXXXXX Janette.
