Instructors
Niamh Jones is a very dedicated teacher and practitioner of Bikram yoga.
She guides complete beginners and those more advanced through the practice.

She lived in San Fransico for a while where she completed her Bikram teacher training course.
Niamh has taugh many times at the Burren Yoga and Meditation Centre in the past few years, and also attend many of the weekend workshops we have here at the centre.
She likes to continue to improve her practice over the years and attends many of the well known Ashtanga teachers who visit the centre such as "Dave Robson & Dave Gelleneau, Richard Spahn, and Granville Cousins.
She even taugh an extra Bikram class to Granville and his students during one of his 7-day retreats here at the centre.

Niamh teaches Bikram yoga in Galway city regularily and also evening Bikram classes at the Burren Yoga and Meditation Centre from September to May on a Thursday night.

Niamh's classes are hot! good fun, and exhilarating. Great way to stretch.
Dave Brocklebank designed and built this beautiful purpose designed yoga centre in 1999 with the view to providing an ideal retreat space in which to truely practice and learn yoga and meditation.
He began meditating in 1978 and began practising Yoga in 1989 with the Galway school of Yoga and Meditation which is Satyananda based.
He completed the 2-year Satyananda yoga teacher training with Shradhmurti and Chetanmurti in the Galway school of Yoga and Meditation. He has attended numberous workshops since then (too many to mention) with teachers of many traditions from all over the world.

His classes begin with very gentle loosening up postures which help prepare the body for the stronger postures which are introduced after a number of months. He introduces Pranayama right from day one, and a large emphasis is placed on the awareness of the practitioner rather than their physical ability.
His experience with Iyengar and Astanga yoga bring a detailed approach to correct alignment of the body in order to assume the posture while respecting the limits of one's body.

In addition to Dave's yoga lifestyle, he also attends Buddhist teachings and tries to bring these teachings into his own life and dealings with people.
Dave runs the Burren Yoga and Meditation Centre, co-ordinating courses, facilitating workshops and teaching Yoga and Meditation himself. He also maintains his own daily practice of Yoga and Meditation, and regularly attends Yoga workshops throughout the year.
