Vinyasa Flow and gentle yoga

September 5th - 12th 2008

Description of course

And there will also be at least 1 Bikram hot yoga class during the week.

So this is a great week or weekend to experience different types of yoga

Vinyasa flow yoga is a flowing dynamic form of yoga where one moves from one posture to another in a flowing sequence.

The goal of the course is to introduce you to a more flowing form of yoga without getting too caught up in a rigid sequence, so that you may practice at home after the course.

There will also be outdoor trips into the Burren each day.

And massage by Laura who is an amazing massuese during the week.

To avail of a cheaper flight you may like to stay an extra night or two. Cost is €35 per night. No meals included.

Who is the course suitable for

Suitable for beginners to intermediate. But one should be reasonably fit, as the yoga is dynamic and flowing.

Dynamic Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Dynamic Vinyasa Flow Yoga is based on the flow of Ashtanga Yoga linking postures with breath. However, it is not as strong as ashtanga, although you will be challenged with the sequences which are practiced within a sustained meditative flow.

It strengthens, tones and enhances flexibility and also energises and balances the body creating heat from within which in turn detoxifies your entire system.

Dynamic Yoga uses specially sequenced movements which are organised so that the body releases, strengthens and integrates gradually and easily. Strength and flexibility are side effects to real benefits such as increased self-confidence, the ability to stay focused and calm in stressful situations and above all to feel more connected to all aspects of yourself.

A typical class would begin with conscious breathing (Pranayama) hip/shoulder warm-ups then flow into some Sun Salutations and Standing postures. Followed by some backbends, forward bends and twists ending with Inversion work (e.g. handstands and headstands) and Deep relaxation.
