Sharing driving
Many of the beautiful places in the Burren where we go for our outdoor activities are between 10 minutes and 30 minutes drive from the centre.
In general, most people come to the centre in their own car, and we take turns driving each day.
However, some people fly in from abroad, and often arrive at the centre by taxi if they desicde not to hire a car.
Some people travel to the centre by public transport and this is also fine.
It has happened twice in 7 years, that most people on a particular course came to the centre either by plane and taxi, or public transport, and we did not have enough cars to travel to the usual locations.
During those two courses we went for local walks in the surrounding area.
The walks around the centre are also very nice, and we had a great time on these retreats.

The Burren activitiesA great benefit of having your own car, is that it gives you the freedom to visit some of these spectacolor places yourself.
It can be nice to take time out from the group and go back to visit one of the beautiful places either on your own or with a couple of the others you will meet on the course.

When we go on our organised outings, we take turns in driving so that we take as few cars as possible. Usually 4 cars is fine to take all of us.
Those of us who are not driving, usually thank the driver of our car by paying for their lunch for that day. Cost for the driver's lunch is shared between the occupants of that car. Lunch usually costs between 8 and 20 euros.
