Information for people attending weekly classes
The information here is for people who attend our regular weekly classes at the Burren Ypga and Meditation Centre.
It is not meant for anyone who has not learned these practices with a qualified yoga teacher.
Daily practice at home
You are encouraged to practice between 10 and 20 minutes per day if you are a beginner.
You should practice if possible 5 to 6 days per week.
Home Practice for level 1 or 2 Satyananda yoga classLevel 3 students should follow the practices for level 1 and 2, but incrwase the time or intensity of the practice and add a few more postures, especially the sequence
- Mountain
- Knees, chest and chin on the may, buttocks high in the air
- Cobra
Level 4 students should read the guidelines for level 1 or 2, and practice according to their energies that day, and at that time.
Ideally begin with breath, or witha a meditation practice, or both.
And follow with a number of rounds of Salutation to the Sun, varying the sequence with Salutation to the moon.
Then follow with forward bends hanging down. Then trikonasana, reverse trikonasana, sideways lunge, and if suitable for you reverse lunge.
Then follow by the legs wide, standing forward bend series.
Warrior poses, one or two more salutations, and sitting postures.
Plough, Shoulderstand, plough, Fish. Headstand.
