Mixed ability Ashtanga
A group of 10 people with some prior experience of Yoga were introduced to Ashtanga. 8 girls and 2 guys.
Hmmm... nice and easy stretches to start. This is nice and easy ;-)

Anto explains how to improve the forward bends, but not to hold onto tension in the face or anywhere else.

Bernie helps us with alignment for this spinal twist

So we all deserved a nice refreshing hill climb up Mulloughmore. The group split into two. One group climbed to the top of Mulloughmore which took about 2 hours from start to finish. The second group took a more gentle route and walked on the Burren limestone pavement around the foot of the hill.
Many remarked on the peacefullness and silence of the area as well as the natural beauty.

OK, break time over.... time to work on some inverted postures....

Antonio had practiced a good amount of Yoga before and was well able for the hand stand.

Rory works on improving his headstand.

There were also an introduction to Meditation on the course.

And also a few relaxation breaks.

All in all, a lovely weekend of Asthanga Yoga, some Iyengar posture work, some Meditation, Jala Neti, excellent food and great company.
