The group arrived on Friday evening after having driven in a few seperate cars from Dublin.

Some of the group had practiced Yoga before but some had no previous experience.

We sat down for dinner about 7:00 PM which was prepared from Paddi (our amazing cook formerly from Seventh Heaven restuarant).

Our fare for the evening was

  • Vegetarian Burritto
  • Guacomoli
  • Sour cream
  • Salsa
  • Tossed green salad
  • Red cabbage and apple salad
  • Beetroot and orange salad
  • Delicious salad dressing
  • Coleslaw
  • And for dessert... Fresh fruit salad and cream

9:00 - 10:00 There was a session of breath awareness, a few gentle loosening postures, and a deep relaxation (Yoga Nidra)

After that most people went to bed early while a few stayed up chatting in the kitchen.

On Saturday morning the group was called at 6:30 and were all ready to go in the Yoga room for 7:00 AM

7:00 - 8:00 The was a class of breath awareness and expansion with Dave, followed by an introduction to sitting Meditation and breath focus. (Kaya Stiariam)

8:15 - 10:15 Veronica introduced the class to Ashtanga Yoga.

Throughout the weekend the classes varied from quite strong and dynamic to strong stretching, toning, and restoring the body, to inner awareness, relaxation, steadying the attention, mind awareness, to meditation.

The Satyananda Yoga classes included most of the Inner Awareness Yoga.

The group were of differing abilities, but all were reasonably fit.

Veronica walked around making adjusts and making suggestions on how to improve the postures.

Lunch on Saturday consisted of
  • Bean and Mushroom pate
  • Maple orange & rosemary sauce
  • Tossed green salad
  • Coleslaw
  • Organic home made bread

Veronica's experience and gentle adjustements helped the participants go deeper inot postures and to also improve their practice.

Some of the postures were stronger while some were managable by all.

For dinner we had
  • Sweet and sour Vegetables with Rice
  • Tzatziki
  • Bean and tomatoe woth garlic dressing
  • Beetroot and mandarin salad
  • Tossed green salad
  • Orange and strawberry cheesecake

Varonica also taught some partner yoga were we eached helped each other to stretch.

This brough a nice ligh-hearted approach inot the class.

And one the strongest of the practices prepared us all for the hand stand.

After an exhilerating class, we all deserved the well earned relaxation.

And for lunch on Sunday before the group departed well fed, happy, stretched, relaxed and rejouvinated we had some more of Paddi's lovely fare
  • Lentil and tomatoe soup
  • Hummus
  • Carrott, turnip and seasame seed salad
  • Tossed green salad
  • Red cabbage and apple salad
  • Followed by Pear & Apply crumble

And a nice group photo to finish off the weekend.
