You may get to the centre by train or by bus, and then catch a reduced fare taxi direct to the centre.
Train

From Dublin
From 30th March 2010 Take Galway train and change at Athenry to take train to Gort. ( 6 miles from centre. See link below for Taxi numbers in Gort)
Check timetable for the date you will be travelling. However, in general departs Dublin Hueston station 14:30 and arrives Gort 18:15. Later train departs Dublin Hueston 15:25 arrives Gort 19:11
From Limerick
Take Galway train as far as Gort. ( 6 miles from centre. See link below for Taxi numbers in Gort)
Bus
Do not get a bus to Kinvara.Its best to get a bus to Gort as it it easy to get a taxi from Gort. There are no reliable taxis in Kinvara.
From Dublin city or airport
Catch a bus to Galway city and then taxi direct to the centre.
Cork, Limerick, Ennis
Catch the Galway bus as far as Gort and then a taxi to the centre.
Galway
Best to arrange the reduced fare taxi pickup. Or take bus to Gort and then a taxi to the centre.
Shannon airport
Best to arrange the reduced fare taxi pickup. Or take Galway bus as far as Gort and then a taxi direct to the centre.
Anywhere else
Catch a bus to Galway or Gort and then a taxi to the centre.
Search Google "Bus Galway 'your town'" to find bus company name.
