Description of course


Kevin Gardiner is a very well known and well liked Iyengar yoga teacher from New York.

This 7 day workshop is an opportunity to work with one of the best Iyengar yoga teachers to deepen and strengthen your Iyengar practice, and to take time to explore the Burren in between classes.

An deal way to escape the cash-mass of Christmas, and replace it with a week of healthy and insightful retreat.

There will be plenty of outdoor activites in the Burren and surrounding areas.

And the usual amazing vegetarian meals with Paddi the chef.

Cost of the course


The cost of the course is €630 and includes accommodation and vegetarian meals.

The food is cooked by Paddi the gourmet vegetarian chef who ran Seventh Heaven the well known restuarant in Galway city.

A single room costs €100 extra.

We may eat lunch out locally and you will need to pay for this yourself.

Prices to attend part of a course

Additional nights stay at the centre


To avail of a cheaper flight you may like to stay an extra night or two. Cost is €30 per night. No meals included.

Availability of staying an extra night will only be known 1 week before the course start date, and will depend on the numbers attending the previous weeks course.

If the centre is full, you could always stay that night in Kinvara village with one of the many b&b’s.

Who is the course suitable for


This course is suitable for beginners to intermediate Iyengar yoga practitioners.

You must have practiced some form of yoga before, preferably Iyengar.

It is not suitable for complete beginners to yoga.

Jan 3rd - 10th will be at a higher level and will be suitable for Intermediate Iyengar practitioners or those with a lot of yoga experience.

Instructors


Kevin teaches Iyengar yoga in Upper East Side in Manhattan, New York.

He is of Irish descent, and has one foot in Ireland and another in the hussle, bustle and Iyengar of New York city.

Kevin Gardiner celebrated thirty years of practice with the turn of the Millennium. He is a Certified Intermediate Junior III Iyengar yoga Instructor and has made extended trips to India to study with the Iyengars in Pune.



He is a core faculty member and co-founder of the B.K.S. Iyengar Institute of Greater New York.

He also teaches classes in his own studio on the Upper East Side in Manhattan.

Kevin is precise and detailed in his instruction, graceful in demonstration and has a light-hearted and off-beat sense of humor. A dynamic and inspiring teacher, Kevin communicates his great love and understanding of yoga to his students. His ability to teach an entire session while concentrating on only one or two principles allows students to have a deeper experience of each asana.



His contagious enthusiasm encourages students to challenge the unknown in asana with greater sensitivity and awareness.

Learning yoga with Kevin is a grand opportunity to immerse yourself and deepen your practice.

Kevin has a vast knowledge of experience to draw on, in order to use the right props to help someone open up into a posture.



Kevin will often work with the same posture for some time during a class. Exploring different ways to approach the posture.



And his demonstrations are both clear and enjoyable to watch.
