Yoga Philosophy
July 8th - 15th 2005
Attending the course part time or the full residential week
We have accommodation for 15 people to attend the full week.
It is also possible for people to attend the 'Classics of Yoga classes' without staying at the centre.
Yoga Sutra Chapter One : The Chapter on
Meditation, will be the focus of the week.
Description of course
We will do asana, pranayaman, meditation, Sanskrit basics and lots of philosophy about the nature of reality, how it all works, and why we each experience the world
the way we do.
Its very wonderful and beautiful, offering a profound translation of Chapter One of the Yoga Sutra by Geshe Michael which makes the ultimate goals of yoga understandable and applicable to our real lives.
The Heart Yoga classes work from the inside with thoughts and the outside with breath and physical poses, combining the inner and outer methods into a powerful yoga practice that opens the heart, enhances wisdom, and strengthens the body.
This Yoga is a reuniting of two ancient lineages of Yoga: the wisdom teachings of Tibet and the physical teachings
of India.
Cost of the course
The cost of the course is €630 and includes accommodation and vegetarian meals.
Costs include breakfasts, evening dinner, accomodation sharing, classes.
The food is cooked by Miriam using Paddi's famous recipes

Additional nights stay at the centre
To avail of a cheaper flight you may like to stay an extra night or two. Cost is €30 per night. No meals included.
Availability of staying an extra night will only be known 1 week before the course start date, and will depend on the numbers attending the previous weeks course.
If the centre is full, you could always stay that night in Kinvara village with one of the many b&b’s.
Who is the course suitable for
This course is open to all. Whether you have never heard any Buddhist teachings before, whether you have not practiced yoga before, or if you have been studying Buddhist teachers for years or a yoga expert for that matter.
This week will be a tranquil retreat, with lecture style teachings, as well as the physical yoga classes, and the usual outdoors in the Burren.
The lectures will be based on Geshe Michale's interpretation of Patanjali's Yoga Sutra.
There will be also periods of silence during the week.
