Instructors
Alexendra Kreis
"Yoga helps to control the swirling currents of thoughts"
Her path of Yoga commenced in 1994 when she learned that Yoga can not only be used as a way to keep your body fit and mind alert, but can also be used as a therapy to deal with long term health problems.

At that time she had been working as a socialworker and personal counselor.
Alex found yoga a form of exercising, which worked the body and quietened the mind, and also gradually brought about a personal change in herself, and improved her whole outlook on life. Her two main teachers were Renate Ockel (Berlin) and Vinod Dulal (Pune/India) who has been an assistant to Mr Iyengar for more than 15 years.
Since moving to Ireland in 2000, has gained from the experience of a few well known English yoga teachers as Jeanne Maslen and Margaret Austin.
Most recently she has worked with Dona Holleman and her thesis of the Seven Vital Principles. Taking them on board, helps one's pracitse becomes more energetic and light. Working not only with the physical resources of one's body but also with one's Chi (Chinese Comprehension of Energy), Yoga becomes an expression, a dance from one's inner self.
Alex has also studied Shandor Remetes' Shadow Yoga and some Qui Gong. Drawing upon Iyengar's Alignment, integrating the Chi as in Shadow Yoga and being Intent as in Dona Holleman's thesis, yoga becomes not only a physical practice but a way of life, since all these rules can be applied in daily life.
Alex is gentle in her approach to people, while still teaching strong postures maintaining the precision of Iyengar throughout her classes.
Dave Brocklebank is clear and gentle in his classes. These classes are a great accompanyment to the Iyemgar classes.
Dave Brocklebank designed and built this beautiful purpose designed yoga centre in 1999 with the view to providing an ideal retreat space in which to truely practice and learn yoga and meditation.
He began meditating in 1978 and began practising Yoga in 1989 with the Galway school of Yoga and Meditation which is Satyananda based.
He completed the 2-year Satyananda yoga teacher training with Shradhmurti and Chetanmurti in the Galway school of Yoga and Meditation. He has attended numberous workshops since then (too many to mention) with teachers of many traditions from all over the world.

His teaching of meditation is very clear and understandable for beginners and for advanced meditators alike.
The meditation technique is breath focus and mindfulness.
As the course progresses, he gives less and less instructions, so that one is able to follow the practice without any guidance at the end of the course.

In addition to Dave's yoga lifestyle, he also attends Buddhist teachings and tries to bring these teachings into his own life and dealings with people.
Dave runs the Burren Yoga and Meditation Centre, co-ordinating courses, facilitating workshops and teaching Yoga and Meditation himself. He also maintains his own daily practice of Yoga and Meditation, and regularly attends Yoga workshops throughout the year.
