Hatha Yoga with Debbie Corradino

January 3rd - 10th 2010

Description of New Year yoga retreat

New Year Hatha yoga classes, pranayama (breathing) and meditation with very experienced Debbie Corradino.

This course will be reasonably gentle, but will also challenge each person to work with the postures to their own ability.

This New Year retreat is suitable for complete beginners to those with a few years yoga experience.

Description of New Year Hatha Yoga Retreat

Tune inwards and be guided by Debbie ;-)

This New Year yoga week provides a lovely and nurturing space with time to let go of everyday commitments and tune into your self.

We develop an openness and a freedowm of both body and mind through gentle yet sometimes challenging yoga, breathing excerises, sitting meditation and having fun on this hatha yoga week.

This week is suitable for all levels. Complete beginners to more experienced practitioners and aims to relax, centre and energize you.

Debbie's approach allows students to explore yoga in a way that encourages genuine interest and curiosity in a safe and light-hearted environment. The classes are fun and challenging with modifications to suit all abilities and body types.

There will be plenty of outdoor activites in the Burren and surrounding areas.

And the usual amazing vegetarian meals with Paddi the chef.

Cost of the course

The cost of the New Year course is €730 and includes accommodation and vegetarian meals.

The food is cooked by Paddi the gourmet vegetarian chef who ran Seventh Heaven the well known restuarant in Galway city.

A single room costs €120 extra.

We eat lunch out locally and you will need to pay for this yourself.

Prices to attend part of a course

Additional nights stay at the centre

To avail of a cheaper flight you may like to stay an extra night or two. Cost is €35 per night. No meals included.

Availability of staying an extra night will only be known 1 week before the course start date, and will depend on the numbers attending the previous weeks course.

If the centre is full, you could always stay that night in Kinvara village with one of the many b&b’s.

Who is the New Year retreat suitable for

This Hatha Yoga retreat is suitable to any level.

Instructors
Debbie Corradino is originally from Boulder, Colorado and has studied with many teachers in various countries including 4 years with Richard Freeman which is a world renowned ashtanga teacher.

Debbie first came to yoga in 1994 as a means to unwind from an active lifestyle. An avid skier and mountain biker, she was fulfilled by the physically challenging practice of Ashtanga yoga and this was her primary practice for many years.

Over the years as her yoga practice began to evolve, she began to yearn for different approaches to asana. She has been inspired by the inner-body, exploratory approach to yoga of Barbara Benagh; and the Hatha Yoga and Pranayama teachings of Emil Wendel and Clive Sheridan.

Which has ultimately led her to develop a slower, contemplative approach to her own daily practice and teaching which is grounded in structure and alignment with an emphasis on breath awareness.

Nowadays her approach is more gentle than ashtanga, and she brings in a nice fun atmosphere into her classes.

The New Year yoga classes are fun and challenging with modifications to suit all abilities and body types.

The classes include elements of vinyasa, alignment, breathwork and meditative awareness.

Debbie believes that a willingness to trust in the practice, allowing what emerges from a natural curiosity and patient inquiry is where we find true yoga.

"Yoga is ultimately about freedom, allowing for the freedom to change your point of view, and move beyond old patterns in the body and mind" - Debbie
