San Kalpa positive affirmation

San Kalpa Positive Affirmation or personal Resolution

Sankalpa is used during the practice of Yoga Nidra. It is an instruction from your conscious mind to your sub-conscious mind. It is a powerful tool for change, so you should choose it very carefully.

Sankalpa is a short positive statement of intent of some way you want to be or change your life, in your personality. It is not a wish or a hope. It is something you intend to become or to achieve.

For best results you should phrase it carefully;

I am Or I feel

Are good ways to begin your Sankalpa. Good examples of words or states that one would like to achieve are listed below;

  • Strong
  • Confident
  • Calm
  • Relaxed
  • Healthy
  • Fearless
  • Joyful
  • Peaceful
  • Happy
  • Contented
  • Dynamic
  • Aware

If you would like to achieve more than 1 of the states above, then you should chose no more than 2 words for the list above.

The more positive the words you chose for your Sankalpa, the more powerful the effect. For that reason, try not to use any negative words in your statement.

So if you want to give up smoking, don’t say "I do not smoke anymore". Instead try to focus on the positive side of what you want to achieve. And use the Sankalpa "My breathing is pure and healthy".

If you now that you are quick tempered and want to change that aspect of your personality, chose a positive alternative to being this way, and chose a Sankalpa like "I have a calm and positive nature".

Once you have decided on your Sankalpa, write it down and memorise it exactly. Use the same words, in the same order each time you use it. The effect will be more powerful when you use the exact same words each time.

You can use your Sankalpa at 3 special times

  • During Yoga Nidra practice
  • Immediately you wake up in the worming
  • Just before you fall asleep at night

You may also repeat it to yourself when you think of it during the day.
