Satyananda Yoga Feb 2009 weekend
Last weekend we had a group of 11 people who came from all over the country including Mayo, Dublin, KIldare, Clare, Tipperary, Galway, Cork, Limerick and Wexford.
And it was very nice to welcome back Marie and Fiona who had been here before.
During the weekend of fun, laughter, great yoga, Tadhg forgetting various things ;-) being fortunate with the weather for our outdoor walk by the sea and lovely food by Paddi, we all had a great time and experienced great teaching by Tadhg.
Tadhg taugh some lovely gentle postures, but also more challenging ones.

And Tadhg also taught the postures that make up Salutation to the sun.

This sequence symbolises where we acknowledge the light that is within each one of us, and we pay respect to that inner light, by using the symbol of the external light the Sun.
And this Salutation to the sun, involves forward bends, back bends, hip openers and involves a good workout for the body.
The forward bend can represent us 'letting go of the ego' and bowing down to the inner light within everything.

Tadhg was able to 'meet each person where they are at' rather than inposing impossible postures for beginners.

The equestrian pose is a hip opener and can be quite challenging, but the benefits can also include us 'letting go' of other things which are holding us back in life.

Mountain pose

Knees chaest and chin.

Cobra.

And there are variations for all postures.

Hey... how much letting go do we have to do ? ;-)

It rained before we went for our walk, but the weather was cold this weekend, so we all put on our hats, scarfs and gloves, and went for a lovely walk by the sea.

The scenery here is beautiful, and the fresh sea air is very refreshing.

After our walkj, we went to Linnane's lobster bar, and we all ordered a variety of
- Vegetable soup
- Sea food chowder
- Baked crab
- Pasta
- And many more selections on the mneu
