Course Description
The Pilates course is aimed at complete beginners and is designed to introduce the core exercises to you in an enjoyable way during four Pilates sessions spread over the weekend.
The exercises are introduced so that you will be able to do your own practice at home after this weekend course.
This course is suitable for all ages and all levels of fitness. You do not need to be fit to do these exercises as each posture has a number of different levels at which it can be performed. People who are unfit or are complete beginners should practice each exercise at level 1. As you become more experienced and the body becomes firmer, you can then progress to level 2 and on to levels 3 and 4. In sessions 2, 3 and 4 the different levels will be introduced at which the exercises can be practiced.
By the end of the weekend, depending on your level of fitness you should have progressed onto levels 2 and possibly 3 or 4 of some of the exercises.
You are always encouraged to practice at the level which is suitable for your body. You will gain more benefit and also enjoy the exercises more when you perform at a comfortable level rather than pushing yourself too hard. And care is given so that you place your back in the ‘neutral spine’ position in order to protect the back during the postures.
When you practice at home after the course, you can gradually increase the levels at which you perform the exercises as your body gradually improved with regular practice.
