Detox and Yoga Weekend

Dates:
April 8th - 10th

Course Description
An excellent weekend course to take the time to cleanse the system, to eliminate toxins and to prepare for the new year ahead.

The reduction of toxins begins as soon as you start gradually cutting out certain foods and toxins from your diet.

During the weekend, we will be following a modified fast, where we will be eating very lightly, mainly vegetables and fruits. Two days is not long enough to perform a complete fast, and we are therefore asking you to gradually reduce your intake of the following in the days leading up to the weekend :

Processed foods, tinned and frozen foods, salt, sugar, alcohol, tea, coffee, cigarettes, red meat, eggs, bread, cakes, biscuits. Fried foods, butter and margarine.

If you can, try to increase your intake of vegetables (raw and lightly cooked), and whole grains such as brown rice.

This preparation will help your system to adjust to the modified fasting, to gain maximum benefit from it, and will reduce the possibility of headaches, tiredness and other unpleasant symptoms.

Please do not bring any food with you. You may feel a little hungry, but we will be helping you along with various Yoga and relaxation practises, with talks on nutrition, stress management and lifestyle, with encouragement and advice, gentle walks in beautiful surroundings, and a deeply relaxing massage.

If you smoke, could this weekend be just the opportunity you need to cut it down or even cut it out?

You may well decide to continue with the modified fast for a few days after the weekend, and we can advise on this.

We hope that the weekend will inspire you to evolve your own balanced long-term lifestyle plan.

Course Instructors:
Dave Brocklebank B.A., M.A. (psy), Satyananda Yoga teacher.
Miriam Gormally who has background in detox and nutrition and is also a yoga teacher in Dublin.

Who it is suitable for

This course is suitable for anyone who would like to cleanse their system and also to learn about ways of maintaining a healthy and nutritious diet and how to use gentle Yoga exercises to enhance wellbeing, improved breathing, and removal of toxins.

The weekend is quite gentle and is a nice relaxing way to take time out of your normal life.

It is recommended that you cut out certain foods a number of days before the course, and also maintain some or all of the recommendations made on the course.
