Dates
June 25th - July 2nd 2004

Instructor
Alexandra Kreis

Alex's main teachers were Renate Ockel (Berlin) and Vinod Dulal (Pune/India) who has been an assistant to Mr Iyengar for more than 15 years.

She has also studied with Jeanne Maslen and Margaret Austin. And with Sama Fabian a fellow student of Dona Holleman.

Description of workshop
"Through Yoga practice you achieve quietness and calmness in mind and body. If the mind rests, it’s possible to differentiate important from unimportant." - Alex

During the workshop, Alexandra leads you to this experience of inner quietness and calmness through clear precise Iyengar asana classes and also backed up by simple pranayama and attention to inner awareness.

"Through detailed work of postures we take the mind from the outside, inwards. With Meditation and Pranayama we still the mind through breath observation." - Alex

Alex keeps a countinious flow to her classes, which helps keep the mind away from the usual daily preoccupations leading it towards a stillness and inner peace. When the mind rests, we become aware of harmony between body and mind.

There will be the usual outdoor trips to the Burren and walks by the sea.

Who is it suitable for ?
This class is suitable for those who have some Yoga previous experience.

You do not need to have had previous Iyengar experience, but please note the afternoon class will be working on inversions.

It is ideal for those who like to work with the physical body, with the clear precisness of Iyengar yoga, and also for those who enjoy breathwork and meditation.
