26th – 28th April
Weekend luxury escape from Friday to Sunday, with top class yoga teacher Eileen Riordan O’Sullivan who will teach a variety of types of yoga this weekend.

Hatha flow yoga class in the morning, yummy restorative yoga in the afternoon. Meditation morning and evening, also yoga nidra in the evening.

Some of her classes can start from small micro movements with awareness, coordinating with the breath, and gradually evolving into bigger global movement, allowing a sense of flow, effortless ease, that encourages each person to adapt to their own body & ability.

Eileen is a very experienced teacher and can teach as gentle as you would like on this retreat. Or if you prefer, Eileen can also give you more challenging practices on this yoga and meditation weekend.

Enjoy an invigorating Hill walk after breakfast and an optional sea swim after lunch.

Bring your camera/phone to get photos of the beautiful Burren wild flowers.

On today’s guided outing, it was lovely to see the Spring Gentians… the early purple orchids, Mountain Avins and other wild flowers.

Beautiful sunny day with fluffy clouds, and lovely reflections in the sea which looked like a mirror.

I never get tired of The Burren or bringing our guests to some of the special places in the Burren.

2 more week’s to go to the May bank holiday weekend…

The cuckoo festival will be held in Kinvara from 3rd – 6th May.

And that weekend we have a lovely combination of Vinyasa yoga, Yin yoga and Restorative yoga with Carmel Cronin who has been teaching for well over 20 years.

Carmel has a lovely way of teaching and will encourage you with her humour and warmth, and after the first day you will be amazed at what you will be able to do.

A lovely bank holiday to enjoy this variety of classes with Carmel, daily guided outings and world class vegetarian food.

Yoga Flow and Yin yoga weekend with Grainne O’Malley.

Grainne brings a lovely balance of fun and enjoyment to her breath-focussed flowing yoga classes, helps you to let go in her more tranquil Yin yoga classes.  😎👌🔥

Grainne teaches both Yoga flow, and also Yin yoga. In her yoga flow classes one’s focus is maintained on the breath, and coordinating the breath with the flowing movements. Grainne’s Yin yoga is more relaxing and restorative.

All our classes, outings and meals are optional, so you are free to join all or some as you please during the weekend.

However over 95% of people relish the freedom of not having to decide or choose what to do each day, and go with the full programme which is a well tried recipe which we have been running and improving on since 1999.

During our guided outing we go to one of the local cafes and it is lovely to also get a chance to taste some of the best local cuisine.

And after lunch there is the opportunity to go for a bracing dip in the sea.  🏊‍♀️

This is optional 😉

The food at the Burren Yoga Retreat is to die for… and many people say they would come back here for the food alone.  🍓🍰💌🧸

And at this time of year, it is lovely to see the Burren wild flowers popping up. This is the time to see the first Spring Gentians.   💐🌷🌹🌸🌺

Burren wild flowers April is when we first see t

Burren wild flowers

April is when we first see the Spring Gentian flower which is a vivid gentian blue colour.

It is like meeting an old friend again when each year at this time we see the first Spring Gentians.

The Burren was formed 330 Million years ago… which is a number that we just don’t comprehend.

At that time the Burren was a shallow coral sea.

When this formed into limestone over millions of years, all the soil was alkaline.

And during a number of ice ages, the glaciers picked up large deposits of acid soil from Connemara, and deposited them in the Burren.

So we get wild flowers that will only grow in alkaline soil, right next to flowers that will only grow in acidic soil.

It is one of the reasons why botanists from all over the world come to the Burren to see this unique amazing variety of wild flowers all growing side by side in the same wonderful location.
