      This September Satyananda yoga week retreat will be a week of Energising and Uplifting heart felt Satyananda Yoga and Meditation

      This September retreat week will provide a Rejuvenating and nourishing yet deeply relaxing space through heart centered practice that aims to connect us to who we are and what we need.

      The Yoga practice will be gently invigorating, rejuvenating and energising. This Satyananda yoga retreat week will include an introduction to the Chakras which are energy centres within the body. The week retreat will also include Satyananda yoga classes, breathwork, relaxation and yoga Nidra and working with one’s awareness.

      Emphasis is placed on working with one’s awareness, rather than on focusing on one’s physical capabilities.

      An ideal week to let go of the stresses and strains of everyday life and to let go into a very peaceful and tranquil environment with a gifted teacher and share some time with like minded people.

      This September week is suitable for all levels and for all ages.

      The Rejuvenating yoga course is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with an established practice who may like to come along to deepen your yoga practice, and learn to tune inwards more deeply.

    • Instructor Bio Grainne McLaughlin (Vedanta)

      Grainne Mclaughlin who’s yogic name is Vedanta, has practiced many different forms of hatha yoga over the years since taking up yoga in the early 90’s.

      When she began studying Satyananda Yoga (Bihar School of Yoga) she fell in love with the philosophy and style of this teaching.

      Grainne completed her Satyananda yoga teacher training which is over 800 hours with Swami’s Shraddha and Chetan Murti at the Galway Yoga and Meditation school in 2002.

      Her teaching is heartfelt encouraging you to explore your personality in a gentle way as you practice yoga.

      She is continually training in Yoga and Meditation throughout Europe and India, enriching her teaching techniques and sharing this knowledge with her students.

      Feel the warmth and welcoming Nature of Grainne, and let go and just “be”

      Grainne has been practicing yoga since the early 90’s and has been teaching yoga for over 14 years.



      Grainne teaches with lovely heart centered energies and her classes are suitable for all levels including complete beginners to advanced practitioners.

      This rejuvenating September week is a lovely retreat to get away from the usual demands of everyday life, start each day with yoga and meditation with a very gifted teacher Grainne, and enjoy the daily guided outings into the Burren hills and by the sea while being nourished by Paddi’s amazing vegetarian food.

      This September week yoga retreat is suitable for complete beginners as well as advanced people of all ages and all levels of fitness.



      It is suitable for those who prefer a more traditional approach to yoga and a more gentle approach than Ashtanga.

      Satyananda Yoga is suited to anyone who is looking for an integrated approach to their physical, mental, and spiritual development.



      This retreat is suitable for all ages and all levels of ability.

      The Burren is a spectacular place to go for hill walks and the scenery is stunning.



      Grainne sees meditation as being intrinsic to one’s yoga practice, and through the practice of meditation there is a softening and an opening of the heart…. and a beautiful feeling of spaciousness which arises.

      She brings a meditative approach to the asana class where one can get deeper in touch with one’s inner feelings and experience within the postures.

      And this can be such a refreshing approach that that leaves behind the usual hustle and bustle of daily life and opens us up to a world of freshness and clarity.



      This retreat week will provide a nourishing, energising yet deeply relaxing space through heart centered practice that aims to connect us to who we are and what we need.

      There is a lovely variety of gentle restorative postures as well as energizing challenging postures and also sun salutations.



      Grainne’s instructions are very clear and easy to follow. She takes good care of each retreat participant and ensures that each person is practicing to the level suited for them at this moment in their life.



      The breath is integral to the practice. Grainne will explain about how to breath using different parts of the lungs and will then remind you of this, so that you will bring your awareness to the breath throughout the practice.



      Grainne brings clarity to the postures by giving demonstrations when required and also keeping a keen eye out to ensure that your alignment is correct within the posture.

      She explains the posture carefully and will then give individual guidance if someone is having difficulty coming into the posture correctly.

      She also makes the postures accessible to everybody of all ages and all levels of fitness, and gives gentle variations to anybody with injuries or personal limitations.



      This September week retreat is suitable for complete beginners as well as regular Yoga practitioners.



      Each of Grainne’s classes are well balanced, and there is a good variety of all forms of postures both gentle and invigorating.



      As usual on our Eco Yoga Retreats, we have daily guided outing into the Burren hills and by the sea.



      Followed by lunch at one of the local restaurants or cafes which is a great way to sample the best of the locale cuisine in the Burren.



      Depending on the weather we also go on the boat trip to see the Cliffs of Moher from the sea. This is the most spectacular way to see the Cliffs of Moher!



      And also if we get the right weather conditions we sometimes practice yoga on the Burren pavement rock, over looking the Atlantic ocean.



      Some of the classes are restorative and involve some gentle releasing postures.



      We will also practice supported restorative postures that facilitate deep, yet gentle release, and renewal on many levels.



      These restorative yoga classes are great for ‘letting go’, and bring a deeply relaxed and nourishing feeling to all levels of our being.


      Grainne also teaches Yoga Nidra which is an ancient practice which guides us into a very deep state of relaxation and the whole process is very powerful for relaxation and transformation on all levels.



      This week will be an opportunity to step out of the busy-ness of daily life in order to re connect with ourselves and Nurture Body, Mind and Spirit with Yoga postures, Pranayama and Meditation.

      Grainne ensures that each person finds a comfortable sitting posture, and uses various props to help find more comfort and ease with the practice.


      The meditation is introduced in a very easy way for compete beginners, and through practicing twice each day, each participant becomes more comfortable with the practice so that they can continue at home after the retreat.



      Each evening Paddi who used to run Seventh Heaven restaurant for over 12 years, prepares a vegetarian feast and many people have said they have not eaten food as good as this at any restaurant.
