    Bio Yoga Teacher Dublin Kanta Barrios


    Kanta Barrios is from Mexico city originally, and she was born into a family where yoga was practiced and she was introduced to yoga at an early age.



    Over the years Kanta has completed a number of Yoga Teacher Training courses and is currently undertaking further on-going training as an Anusara yoga teacher while also teaching anusara inspired yoga in Dublin.


    Kanta recently completed further yoga teacher training and received E-500 RYT certification to go along with Anusara (Experienced Registered Yoga Reacher 500hr program) which a small handful of teachers in Ireland have received.

    Kanta currently teaches Anusara yoga in Dublin as well as teaching Anusara yoga retreats at the Burren Yoga and Meditation Centre.



    Kanta has been living in Dublin since 2008, and her Anusara yoga classes in Dublin are well attended and a joy to take part in.


    Her classes are suitable for all ages and all levels of ability.



    Kanta has practiced many different forms of yoga over the years including ashtanga yoga with Pattabhi Jois. She undertook teacher training practice with Pattabhi Jois and completed over 100 hours with him.



    She brings her experience of different forms of yoga to the classes and gives clear guidance on the correct alignment and opening to the joy inside your heart within the postures.



    She has also practiced Siddha yoga and meditation. She has undertaken 12 years as a long term student of yoga, meditation, and philosophy in Siddha Yoga at Shree Muktananda Ashram in the USA, and also at Gurudev Siddha Peeth, in India.



    Kanta now teaches as an ‘Anusara Inspired’ Yoga teacher in Dublin and uses her wide experience of other forms of Yoga, Therapeutics, and Meditation practices.

    Trained in Anusara, Ashtanga and Iyengar yoga, Kanta’s classes are creative, challenging and dynamic and strongly emphasize breathing and alignment, though always with an invigorating flow and pace.


    She is committed to bringing a down-to-earth and light approach- to make the exploration and practice of Yoga fun and relevant in today’s lifestyle. With the intention optimizing students health and general well being.



    Kanta’s other experience of yoga are too numerous to mention, but has also included Iyengar yoga at the Iyengar Yoga Institute in New York, Therapeutic Yoga with John Friend and Desiree Rumbaugh, Yoga Anatomy with Martin Kirk, Yoga Therapy for women with Pat Clanmel.



    Nowadays her yoga teaching includes personal assessment and tailored yoga programs for individuals in Dublin, Restorative and Therapeutic Yoga, Stress Management and Breathing techniques, Meditation and deep relaxation in combination with Asana and Pranayama.

    On Kanta’s anusara yoga residential retreats at Burren Yoga Centre there is a much deeper transformation effect that happens rather than simply attending weekly Anusara yoga classes in Dublin.

    The intention of each class is to cultivate strength, develop awareness and help students find balance, light-heartedness and rejuvenation within them-selves.

    While staying here within a yogic environment, one goes deeper and benefits a lot more through each consecutive class on her retreat.
