Car pooling on our Guided Outings
Many of the beautiful places in the Burren where we go for our outdoor activities are between 10 minutes and 30 minutes drive from the centre.
We minimise the impact on the environment, so that we take as few cars as possible when we go on our guided outings, and we take turns driving each day.
Instead of all the retreat participants driving their car each day, we car pool for our guided outing.
Each retreat participant takes a turn in driving during the retreat, and some of the other retreat participants go as passengers in their car.
If you are taking a lift with someone else, the passengers show their appreciation to the driver by paying for the driver’s lunch that day. Lunch usually costs between 8 and 20 euros which works out about €5 per passenger.
If you don’t have a car, that is fine, as most people coming will be Irish and will be driving here, and you simply pay for their lunch as a nice way of exchanging good energies.
Looking a Lift to the Centre
If you are getting to the centre by public transport or by taxi, then on the Wednesday before the retreat begins, Dave will try to team you up with someone else travelling by public transport so you can share a taxi from Galway to the centre.
You should select “Public Transport” in the box ‘How will you be getting here’ on your booking form.
If you would like to avail of a reduced fare taxi, or to share a taxi, then please see the TAB about Taxis at Getting Here
