 Seeking Chef at Burren Yoga Retreat

We are seeking a chef to prepare dinner and lunch for guests on our yoga retreats.

All the food is vegetarian.

This position is with the Burren Yoga Retreat, which is located in the townland of Normangrove – Cappacasheen, 5 miles from Kinvara and 6 miles from Gort on the Galway Clare border.

The Burren Yoga Retreat has a very nice relaxed atmosphere and is a lovely place to work.

This is a dream job for the right person.  

Preparing and cooking high standard of vegetarian food in a lovely, relaxed retreat environment.

You would need to live within a 30 miles radius of the Burren Yoga Retreat.  You would also need to have your own car.

 Chef Work Description & Hours

The role involves preparing, cooking and serving dinner and lunch at the Burren Yoga Retreat

 

28th April until 22nd May:    2.5 days per week on our weekend retreats;

Hours are approximately as follows;

  • Fri 1:30 pm – 8:00 pm
  • Sat 2:30 pm – 8:00 pm
  • Sun 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
 
 

Our backup chef can cover one of the days below, so that you would work 5 days per week during the summer.

26th May until 29th August:  5 days per week on our week-long retreats;

  • Fri 1:30 pm – 8:00 pm
  • Sat 2:30 pm – 8:00 pm
  • Sun 2:30 pm – 8:00 pm
  • Mon 2:30 am – 8:00 pm
  • Tues 2:30 am – 8:00 pm
  • Wed 2:30 am – 8:00 pm
 
Hours from 1st September until 3rd December are again about 2.5 days per week on our weekend retreats.

We are seeking someone to join our team who is

Responsibilities

Depending on experience and to be discussed.

  • Preparing and cooking dinner for 12 to 20 people
  • Maintain the high-quality vegetarian meals
  • Prepare foods for breakfast including granola, compote, porridge
  • Baking breads
  • Setting tables and presenting food to guests
  • Managing the food stock and ordering
  • Inspecting and communicating with food suppliers to ensure quality is maintained
  • Be familiar with special diet requirements (including coeliac, diet for IBS, diet for diabetic) and ensure all dietary requirements are catered for

Renumeration

Depending on experience and to be discussed.

Start in April / May

We can discuss when you are available to start.  The position is available from 28th April 2023.

We can arrange training days here with our current chef.

We are ideally looking for someone who is willing to commit to this position for at least a year.
