Mantra Meditation CD
This is an instructional CD to teach you how to practice Mantra Meditation.
It is taught in an experiential way similar to how you would learn by sitting one to one with a meditation teacher.
This is genuine Meditation and not a guided visualization which are sometimes ‘marketed’ as Mediation CD’s.
Overview of this Meditation CD
This Mantra Meditation CD gives you a guided instruction into how to learn Mantra Meditation.
The meditation teacher is Dave Brocklebank who founded the Burren Yoga and Meditation Centre on the west coast of Ireland in 1999, and has been meditating since 1978.
There are 4 separate practices on the CD. Each practice should be followed for about 2 months, and then moving on to the next practice.
The first practice is suitable for complete beginners and there is quite a lot of instructions and guidelines giving you all the information you need to become acquainted with this sitting practice.
Each practice becomes deeper and there are less instructions as one progresses along the path of sitting mantra meditation.
The final practice gives scant reminders for you to follow what has been taught and laid down in the previous instructions, and is an ideal way to become so familiar with the practice with hardly any instructions, that you can effortlessly begin to practice yourself without the CD.
How this CD came about
“Many of my students have asked me over the past 10 years to produce a Meditation CD, similar to the other Yoga Nidra and Yoga practice CD’s so that this would help them practice at home in between coming to the Burren Yoga and Meditation Centre for classes. And after many years, i am now happy with this production of guided meditation instruction.”
4 Meditation Practices on this Meditation CD which teach you how to Meditate
First Practice
The first practice consists of a practice known as Kaya sthairyam Meditation
This then leads in to awareness of the breath flowing through the nostrils, without trying to change the breath.
There are plenty of instructions which are ideal for complete beginners, and the easy focus on the breath allows the energy to flow more easily for a complete beginner.
The total practice lasts about 20 minutes and should be followed every single day for at least a month, preferably for two months without missing a single day of practice.
This consistency of practicing each day (preferably at the same time) is very important in establishing a good meditation practice.
Second Practice
This starts with a similar guiding through the ‘steadiness of the body’ preparation known as Kaya Sthairyam.
Then a brief steadying the awareness on the breath, and then one begins to repeat one’s mantra.
When one first begins practicing, one should contact Dave at the Burren Yoga and Meditation Centre who is the meditation teacher on this CD, and he will give you a Mantra which is suitable for you, and also answer any of your questions that may have arisen after practicing ‘practice one’ for the first one or two months.
An example of a Buddhist mantra can be read about at Om Mani Padme Hum
There are many helpful tips and instructions for your Mantra Meditation in the second practice.
You should practice this each day for 1 to 2 months trying not to miss any day.
Third Practice
This has fewer instructions and begins to lead you towards ‘self practice’ of your mantra meditation.
There are a few reminders of the sequence of Kaya Sthairyam, but most of the sequence you will take your own awareness through the parts of the body which you will be familiar with after practice stages one and two for the preceding 2 to 4 months.
And also guidance for Mantra Meditation but these will be fewer than practice two, as you will now be quite familiar with the whole practice.
There are still a few gentle reminders to help prevent your mind from wandering from the practice.
You should practice this each day for 1 to 2 months trying not to miss any day.
Fourth Practice
This is practically a self practice of your Mantra Meditation. There are a few instructions and a few reminders, but essentially much of this fourth practice is ‘silent’ and you will follow your own guidance.
After practicing this for about a month or two, you should now begin your daily Mantra Meditation practice on your own.
If you ever feel that you are unsure of the practice, you can always go back to using the CD and following either Practice 4 or even 3.

Meditation instruction CD leading towards self Daily Meditation
This CD begins with a guided breath focused meditation practice, which then progressively leads one deeper into a guided Mantra Meditation practice.
These practices will teach you how to meditate, and and as you learn to meditate and begin follow the practices each day, the daily meditational practice will help a steadying of your mind, a reduction of stress in your daily life and in time a more peaceful accepting loving feeling.
This CD is intended to support you in learning meditation, and helping you move gradually towards meditation on your own each day.
The real deeper benefits come about through your own ongoing self practice of your own Mantra Meditation.
