Outdoor Activities Ireland Holiday

There are plenty of outdoor activites during our week long courses at the Burren Yoga and Meditation Centre

It is an important part of all our courses, to spend time outdoors incuding activities such as

  • Swimming with a dolphin
  • Sailing on Galway Bay
  • Walking in the hills and forests of the Burren
  • Easy strolls or tough climbs
  • Trips to the beach
  • Horse riding
  • Visits to ancient sites including dolmens and stone forts
  • Visits to Ailawee caves, Cliffs of Moher Atlantic seafood restaurants, traditional Irish music and set dancing in the local pubs

Not just an outdoor activity centre

The central focus on the courses at the Burren Yoga and Meditation Centre is the yoga being taught and practiced at the centre.

And similar to some other outdoor activity centres such as Delphi Mountain lodge we also include time spent outdoors in the Burren.

However the Burren Yoga and Meditation Centre have a maximum of 15 people on each course, and everyone gets very good individual attention in the yoga classes.

Also the food is famous at Burren Yoga and Paddi the chef used to run Seventh Heaven restaurant in Galway for over 12 years. Delicious Vegetarian meals

Free time in the Burren

All of the classes on a weekend or week long courses are optional, so sometimes people take time off themselves to explore the surrounding area themselves.

The outdoor activities are a great way to spend time in Nature, get away from one’s usual world, and time spent in the Burren is like food for the soul.

Activity weekend in the Burren

The traditional sailing boats of Galway bay; the hookers. The views of Galway Bay from the top of the hills. The astounding silence of the area, no farm machinery, little or no houses, very few cars on the roads.

Please don’t tell anyone of this secret magical area 😉

Nature can help us go inwards

Definitely a large part of the beauty and mystery of the area is its uninhabited feeling… the silence… being alone with nature… and being in awe of the surrounding beauty.

And this helps us to become aware of the noise inside ourselves, and to then let this go and merge with the silence and peace inherent in all.
